This stainless-steel snare drum has a relatively deep 7-inch, 1.2mm-thick shell, but is still very versatile. It's 14 inches in diameter so you can count on a lot of volume as well as a wide tonal range, and the broad hoops ensure great tuning stability. The snare features a centre bead, which was requested by legendary drummer Steve Gadd to be placed on the outside for a more open, clear sound.

Yamaha paid close attention to the feedback they received from drum icon Steve Gadd, who was involved in the development of the Recording Custom series from beginning to end. For the best possible resonance, the bearing edges are at a 45-degree angle and it features 2.3mm Dyna Hoops. This 14 x 7-inch snare drum is suitable for any music style and it comes complete with a Remo Snare Ambassador resonant drum head and a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head.
